Projects.....past & present

November 3rd - 26th 2007 I made it.....280 miles I walked from Tampa to Tallahassee. It was a long walk but well worth it. Because of the walk we raised $25,000 in supplies and donations. With that we were able to feed 1000 familes a Holiday meal, 350 kids were provided with gift bags, new books, school supplies, and a Holiday gift. Once again I got to have the best Christmas ever because of this walk and what it allowed us to do!
April 20-21. 2007 My brother Matt and I are getting ready to start working on our 2nd 24 hour event to bring awareness to homeless and street kids. Last year we had about 40 to 50 kids and we hope to have about that many again this year. We will spend 24 hours simulating being homeless. It comes nothing to what real homeless kids go through but we do the best we can. December 22, 2006 We had the Katrina Holiday party and it was awesome. Way better than I ever thought. We had plenty enough presents and gift bags for every kid plus we had enough left over we were able to help about 50 families in rural Louisiana have an awesome Christmas. Thanks to Rosie Odonnell we were able to have a dinner and then donate the hams to families that needed them really bad. I made a ton of balloon animals and even found a couple kids to show my magic trick to. My Mom says she is going to duck tape my mouth shut next time I get an idea cause that was a lot of work September 23, 2006 I am going to start the celebrity auction on ebay. It will be for 10 days and all money raised will be for backpacks and other projects like the one listed above. Please check back then and bid. August 2006 We provided 5 big boxes of new schools supplies to a Gift for Teaching Tampa, Fl. Scissors, Crayons, Markers, folders, paint, paper. Summer 2006 225 more backpacks went out this summer to StandUp For Kids locations all over the United States. They were filled with food packs, personal hygiene kits, 1st aid and sewing kits, boxers, socks, candy packs and each had a small toy. We hope to get another 100 or so out this fall 2006. March 2006 We donated a bunch of boxes of school supplies to a Gift For Teaching Tampa today. We had notebooks, binders crayons, pens, pencils, and scissors. They have a really great program and it serves a good cause I think. April 2006 24 Hours in My Shoes This was a great event that we held to introduce 5 local schools with all different age kids to the problem of homeless youth. We raised supplies and money for backpacks and also awareness to this problem. It was a great event. The kids learned a lot and we have hopes for doing it again next year in 2007. January 2006 We delivered 50 backpacks out to Florida StandUp For Kids offices. October 2005 Hurricane Katrina project. We delivered about $7,000. worth of new games, toys, Arts and Crafts, sporting equipment for the kids living in shelters after Katrina hit. We with the help of Pack 604, Lexington Homes and the Valrico Post Office collected a lot and made a lot of kids happy. October 2006 Delivered 100 backpacks to StandUp for kids in Houston. They had a lot of extra kids from Katrina. September 2005 Southeast Guide Dog school I got to go last week and help paint and clean up at Southeast Guide dog school. It was a lot of fun. They had a party at the end and I went with my bucket and collected about $85 for the school. Even though it wasn't a lot every bit helps. August 2005 Raised $600 for the Red Cross Katrina Fund. August 2005 Helped a homeless family by providing new shoes for the entire family compliments of Payless Shoe Source, provided books, arts and crafts and some toys. Also Build-ABear donated a new bear and outfit for each child. The family was getting there first home after months on the streets and shelters. March 2005 Raised $3680 for the Heart Of Gold Fund it was matched by Gold Bank. I did this while Extreme Home Makeover was in town rebuilding a house for the Dolan family. He had been shot randomly while at work. 2 others were shot and killed. The fund went to help the kids of all three families. August thru October 2004 My first project was after Hurricane Charlie hit. Several more hit that year and I raised a total of 27 pickup loads of food and supplies for all that were hurt by the storms. Insert body text here ...
